Nerf bar fitment for 86-87????

My 86 has some older style AC pro-pegs with the narrower pegs.I am used to the wider pegs for my size 12s...I have a old set of Dana Creech series AC pegs in the garage for a YFZ450,I fit them up and the front mounts @ motor mounts would work if I drilled new holes,cut them down a bit and added a 1/4 or so spacer on the clutch side and 1/2 inch or so spacer on the pipe side.Is there a quad from any other manufacturer that has a closer fitment?There are not many options out there.I really like the Rath Pro-pegs...

True pro pegs, are all universal. I think, as far as i know. They have just two points on the frame where they slide onto a tube. And they are all the same width apart and diameter of tube.I think they are 16.5 inches apart. So, someone correct me if im wrong, True pro pegs, that fit any lonestar, rath or laeger aftermarket frame will work if you weld pro peg mounts on your frame. Which is what i did. Works great!

I am also having the same problem. I have a stock frame 86 and have been looking everywhere for nerfs with heel guards, and i cant find anything. Can u weld pro peg mounts on a stock 86 frame? Where can u purchase the pro peg mounts and does any company make a nerf with heel guards that would fit the pro peg mounts? Thanks for the info.

jwags13,the pro-peg mount is just a tube welded onto the front of the frame.AC may sell the pro-peg mounts at the footpeg.Luckily for me,I have those,so im going to purchase the Rath version and make them work.FYI,Those dont require the front pro-peg tube,just some slight mods at motor mounts with some spacers!

I have read that z-400 and predator nerfs will fit 86-87 trx250r. Does anyone know if this is true? And which one is a better fit?

I called ac racing today and asked them if they had any pro peg mounts for a 86 trx250r and they said no. Also they dont make them any more, so im out of luck there. I was looking in trx250r.net and read about the z-400 nerfs working but it didnt say anything about what year to get and how much fabricating would need to be done. One dude from belgium had a set of z-400 nerfs on his 250r but he had them on a lsr pro peg frame, so no help there.
