Awesome photos Pappy, thanks for sharing!!!

How'd he do? That's Wes Stone's bike I believe...

Not great, 26th in Junior A. I did not get a chance to talk with him after the race so I do not know if he had issues etc. He did finish though.

It is just good to see him at the track:p

Yes, I believe it was one of Wes's R's

Great pictures.

Any idea what motor he's running in that? Are there any displacement rules in XC racing?

I believe he's running an LED motor, 300 PV the sphinx cylinder version...

I wondered what it was. I didn't think it looked like a PRO-X cylinder.

A good friend of mine also was there racing and said during the race he saw Matt Smiley pulled off the track for some time. Not sure why. That would be the reason for his 26th place finish in the 22+A class. He did get back on the track, tho, and when he flew past my buddy like he was standing still (and my buddy isn't exactly a slouch when it comes to racing) he told me it was the best sounding and most crisp 250R he has EVER heard. Ever. And my buddy has heard A LOT of 250R's. :)

Maybe he pulled over to pull all the duct tape off his bumper. It is on there in the first pic then taken off sometime after that.

Yeah that's what we were saying. Probably something like that. Something really simple, cuz Matt certainly had a top notch guy build the quad, shocks from the shock builder who is probably the most knowledgeable when it comes to Lobo's, and a top notch engine builder. Not too much expense spared on that Lobo build. Lol.

Hey 8686, Whos your buddy that was telling you all of that? Lol It was deffinently a LED cylinder and pipe and silencer! The bike was brand new and looked even better in person. It also had Elka shocks! Nice! When I went by him he was just standing there like the bike broke so I figgured he figgured out it was something simple or changed a plug or something. When he went by me on the last lap it sounded so good it made me miss the Rs! I talked to him on the line and he said it was Wes Stones but they called it Matts bike. Lol On a side note there were 2 other Rs there that I saw racing in the morning and one appeared to be a full Leager.

Look at the big ole smile on Santo Derisi and his wifes faces as that 250R with Smiley on it goes by them!

My buddy and I are going to be there, also. I was thinking I might try to ambush Matt in the pits with a camcorder.
