OK well i went riding over the weekend and i could not last 10mins on this natrual made track before im out of breath.. its noting but burms, and big whoops. no jumps or anything. im 250lbs and 5'10. i got stock suspention all around but im buying some front 450r shocks hoping they will help. what can i do to help me last longer on this track. it gets pretty compeitive and i need to be able to last. thanks. btw theres a big *** hill for cars i could walk on if that helps. and i got weights.

Ride more first of all, then ride your bicyle alot. You need to build up your cardio.

I can ride for a whole day with ease, been doing it for awhile now. We get there at 10am, ride till its dark. Im in good shape and never had any issues tho.

Did you stop when you were running short on breath?? I know that when I'm doing cardio, the first 10 mins are a booger... after I get over that hump, i'm good to go.. When I first started running, I couldn't do a quarter mile before i started sucking swamp water, but after you get past that, you'll be good to go.

I'm no small guy by any means either... 6'3" and 295.

What's gonna help you the most is what CJM says. ride your bike. Less wear on your knees, plus you won't get bored with it like you will with running. Throw in a few lightweight-fast rep upper body and arm dumbell workouts and you'll be rippin harder and faster than ever man.

Doesn't take long. maybe start out with 30 or 40 mins on a bike.. just riding around. Do a 3 or 4 sets of 15-20 reps with 15-20lb curls, overhead triceps, dumbell bench and and few sets of pushups and you'll notice a difference in a week.

Plus, chicks dig the arms.

edit: Walking the hill won't do too much for cardio, but it will build your leg and lower back muscles up. Cardio is fast pased, low load. Bulk muscle building is low reps, high load.

My training for MX consists of eating a good hardy breakfast (protein), then i go run 2 miles everyday....dont stop either. Building up electrolytes is important too. I weigh 184 and im 5 foot 10inches. Running helps alot dude...dont stop while your running either unless your about to die...feel the burn....

Hey dude... that'S the solution
GSP Rush Fit (http://www.gsprushfit.com/)

The best way too build up cardio/endurance his to train EVERY DAY!! just go ride your quad really hard until you get out of breath... rest 1-2 min... then jump on quad again... do that for 1 hour... I bet you after 1 week of training you'll be able to ride 1h w/o any brake time... after 1 month 15000000h in row if you want to.... Now if you want to build muscle... Iron lifting is the key to your succes. The best way to train your heart and muscles for a specific sport... is to train it while doing this specific sport or simulating it. Combine that with bicyle or running... for me it's the swimming... 1h/day... freestyle... the best of all IMO!! it's a Body killer!! Don't forget to eat alot of protein, hydration and the most important is SLEEPING!!

Good luck dude!

I do a program called p90x. Its a workout and a diet as well. It really works great and Ive lost about 20 pounds over the last year or so and have a lot of stamina. Its a combo of being in shape and diet.

250 lbs and 5'10" means your overweight, hit the treadmill, start biking etc.

I mountain bike a fair amount between riding and its an awesome workout, similar flow and outdoor nature feeling as riding quads, but also with a healthy aspect.

Also, what 90% of the country fails to recognize is weight management is all about what you eat. Diet is just as important as exercise.

Okay, well what about guys like me, who are like 6"1 and 140lbs? I weigh nothing... Its nice to weigh when racing, but it makes it really hard to get the bike to do what i want it too...

How old are you? I think you are on the younger end based on your build thread. You'll fill out. Also, Weight in LBS doesn't neccesarily correlate with strength. Being 175 and strong is the best of both worlds.
