Motion Pro part number 01-0604 is what you want. It's for a stock 250r thumb throttle to a 38mm PWK carb (or any Keihin carb larger than stock).

Your carb MUST have the cap on it. The stock 250r cable has the carburetor cap built into it, the motion pro cable does not have the cap.

If you use the LTR450 thum throttle, you can use the stock OEM cable goes with it. That is what we use & it works real smooth.

You will have to mod it on the inside of the throttle so the pull arm will have more travel. Just a little grinding in the right places.
It will work a 38mm & we have used it with a 42mm as well with no problems.

If you do use the LTR throttle & need a cable sometime down the road, put a note up somewhere for if you should forget, the year model of the LTR throttle your using.
I didnt, & had to do some searching to find the proper cable for the year model throttle we used.

I dont know about the different cables, what the difference in each is, but I know theres 3 different cables through the years.

HOLLY CRAP,,,, never mind,,, the throttle we used is from a Z400 Suzuki.

Man I'm sorry.
When I was mentioning that the cables for the LTR450 during the year models were different, I remembered the cable I was looking for, went to a Z400 Suzuki.
I'm sorry if I've cause you any trouble & want to aplogize.

Ok, starting all over here.
Yes, the Z400 thum throttle & OEM cable will work a 38mm Keihin carb, with a little modding on the inside so the pull arm will have more travel.
We have also used it on a 42mm Keihin carb it would pull it fully open as well.
