Looks good K-Dub! It's nice to see another one reborn.

How do those tires on the rear hook up on a track? Are they made for hardpack/clay or the loose stuff?

Good job man!

Thanks for all the compliments. Been busy putting a friends 450R together today, sorry it took so long to reply. I was going to enter Aprils QOTM, but its CC only. Ill wait to may.

Danhung11- yes those are Duro flat track tires made for hard pack clay. I learned 20 some years ago they dig like crazy going straight in anything from clay to shin deep mud. There like a paddle tire but for dirt they sling major roost, the problem comes in as they have very little side bite. Fly into a turn on damp grass and hold on you will do multiple 360s. Im 6'4" and weigh 330 pounds, so with holeshots and even tamers on I get way to much side bite in dirt. The Duros just seem to give the perfect amount of traction for me on the track. I rode on a track sunday that was semi muddy and the track owner rototills the track so its about 4" deep loam. I was pulling the front tires coming out of every turn with the Duros on.

Socal- cant wait to see your R. And will add it to the show off your 250r's thread.

Honda 250r 001- Ive ran 11 on my quad since the early 90s from watching Donny "The Bulldog" Banks run it. The Jaws bumper and Donny's riding stile was awesome, so it just seemed fitting to run it. Donny muscled his R around the track with brute force and the throttle pinned.

Your bike looks great K-dub, I really like your tire set up! Your going to love riding that thing, wether your on the track or in the sand!

One thing I've noticed on these lobo's is that the front of the seat fits like crap up against the gas tank. At first I thought it was just mine, but now that I've seen pics of yours, and if you look at the thread "pics of my lobo" where we all posted pics of our bikes you can see it on Higgytrx425 and on Becci4's. The seat actually tightly overlaps on top of the gas tank instead of setting in behind it. It obviously has something to do with the geometry of the frame, it's almost like the subframe is shorter than a stock frame. When I put mine togethor for the first time in '05 I took the seat back off, removed the seat cover and trimmed about 3/4" off the front of my seat pan. It now fits perfectly, both with my stock tank and with my four gallon IMS. If you refer back to the pictures of my bike and the other bikes in the thread you'll see exactly what I mean: http://www.exriders.com/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=462508

It doesn't make you go any faster but it does make everything fit togethor nicely!

How wide does your front end measure with your 4-1 Hipers?

Thanks!

Dtown- Thanks, with my tank raised I think it fits alot better than it did. I havnt gotton to measure it with me on it, but the way it is sitting in the pictures its 49 1/4" wide.

Thanks MXduner, and yes my bank account is definitely lighter, but I have wanted one of these since Earhardt raced his first Lobo in 96. So to me it was worth every penny.

Dtowndiesel- I know exactly what you're talking about! I thought I did something wrong when I was putting this Lobo together! I had to cut the plastic down a bit in the front, just to get the rear plastic to sit down in the rear rubber mounts. Otherwise it wouldn't slide all the way up to lock in place up front. So it helps if I play with the heigth of the tank? I think the sub-frame is probably a little shorter. That would make sense, because of the way it rides on the tank. I wonder if they did that on purpose to get the seat to fit super tight like it does! Well they went tooo far! lol. I also thought that it was a plastic issue. Until I looked a little closer into it. I wonder what else people are doing to counter this issue??
