Smoke after oil change

I did an oil change on my dads 400ex and today when i first started it with the choke on it smoked alil at first and cleared up. the oil that was in it was really black and thick. I've changed the filter & oil on many of 400ex and this has never happend. Any ideas?

Sure its just not jetted too rich?

What color was the smoke.
Blue/gray smoke is oil
Black smoke is unburnt fuel (to rich)
White smoke is water (either condensation or after washing it)
