i'm considering getting a 250r in the future but never rode one. i've had 400ex's, 05 kx250f, and a 01 cr250r before. can you guys help me compare the 250r to the ones i mentioned above. if it's anything like the cr250r then that's good.

They are excellent ice racing machines.. might do you some good in Antarctica.. lol Probly not many trails or mx tracks there.. don't know how much it would be to ship one there though..

It will be a world of difference from your other bikes you mentioned. Not quite what a cr250 is but that's because its much heavier. If you like two stroke power you will love a 250r.

yah 2 stroke is what i'm all about from here on out. a 150 2st is comparable to a 250 4st and a 250 2st is comparable to a 450 4st. wasn't sure if it went that way with quads.

i know it has more weight but i would get a aluminum frame and a 310-320 kit or what ever kits they make. the ergonomics look tighter to me. are they?

I'm pretty sure the geometry is the same if that's what your referring to. But I would only use an aluminum frame for sand dunes only. I know one of the companies made a titanium frame if the weight is that important.

u cant really compare a dirtbike to a quad different aerodynamics, huge weight diff, and more friction being put to the ground w four tires as oppossed to 2. 250Rs r sick and in my opinion the best all around quad u can poss have! many mods availible and can b made very fast! big bore kits 310-330-350-370 and i think they even make like a 410 or somthin if u wanna build a drag bike. as far as aftermarket frames go im not sure why dude was saying only use is for sand??? they can b used on any type of build and r a def up grade from the stock steel frames no matter how u look at it. i recomend a 250R to anybody that is looking to get into riding!! They Kick A**!

i seen a guy selling a trx250r for like $20,000 with titanium frame, titanium bolts, titanium a arms, titanium stem, and it weighed 270 lbs, that seems pretty light.

anywhoooo....i went to lonestar's site and couldn't find the titanium parts. are they discontinued?

Im not sure who made the titanium frames but i do know they are not legal in MX, and I believe neither are aluminum frames (correct me if im wrong). Also I was saying that I probly wouldnt use an aftermarket ALUMINUM frame for anything other than sand riding due to aluminum being not as strong as steel, and we all know how many tweeked steel frames there are out there. (but again maybe im wrong)

Weight is not a huge deal. They are lite compared to most quads.Remember, power to weight.Save weight by adding more power!!!:D
