I am new to the site and definitely like it, well here goes. I have a 01' 440ex. It has the following upgrades: Namura 11:1 440 Big bore; Stage 3 Hot Cam; DMC Alien Dual Stainless Exhaust; 04-05 450r carb; K&N w/pre-filter and open air lid; elevation is 1,350 ft here in MN; stock head (was told this will work with cam) I had my stock carb jetted close before, but now I'm getting the carb and stage 3 cam so I am kind of wondering where to start with jetting and if there is anything I need to do to the carb to make it fit this wheeler, like plug off anything or buy a new throttle cable etc...? any help would be appreciated.

all you need is some RTV, 450r throttle cable, $3 rubber plumbing fitting from home depot, some big jets. Thats all I have and mine runs purdy good.

Try searching for more info? Dont get the stage 3 cam.

thanks for the response, i just ordered the throttle cable and got the rtv, just not entirely sure on the whole initial jets to begin with in the 450r carb during this process  ...i've been doing some reading and don't really know alot about these cams...from Hot Cams website, they only listed the stage 1 (1007-1) and stage 3 I believe it is (1051-3)...I ordered the second one, which from what I read was the upgraded model of the Stage 2, but i'm not entirely sure...any reasoning why not to go with that cam? rather learn now whether or not to put it in instead of installing and harming something haha!
