I have a oem size Clark tank and mounted my new Fullbores today and they dont fit together. The maiers that came with it seem to fit ok. It looks like the tank is about an inch to short to fit with the fenders, front and rear plus seat. Is this typical of the Clark tanks? Stuck the Fullbores on my other R that has a stock tank and it all fit right. Im going to look and see if I can just space the tank up to fit. If that don't work will a maier tank cover work with fullbore plastics? My tank is blue and how I designed my color scheme around it, looked around and couldn't find any good blue oem tanks for sale. Thinking I will have to get a red tank and a blue maier tank cover, but want to make sure that combo will work if raising the Clark tank doesn't.

I have the same issue with my clarke tank and my fullbores. I ran it like that last year. But will be looking for a solution this spring when I re assemble. Let me know if raising the tank fixes it.

Now here is the oem tank with my bkue fullbore plastics.

Now you can see how on the oem tank fits with the fullbore plastic tight and where the plastic is molded to fit the tank and seat, but the Clark tank seem short.

Here's a pic with a FourWerx CF cover, fits nice. I don't remember the gaps that big without the cover though. I like being able to see the fuel level in a natural colored tank, but don't have a picture at the moment. Does your plastic have the Velcro strap?

I was hoping you'd chime in Dano.... I didn't remember seeing much of a gap with your clark tank and fb plastic... never really noticed anyway.

K-Dub: you can also angle the front mounts more forward, it will pull the plastics taught. If that makes sense.

Yes I have the strap on, and I will try to move the mounts forward shortly. The mounts bound up the bolts when I mounted the fronts, thinking they might need some adjusting also. Thanks for the tip, and picture Dan.

Ok raised the front of the tank 1/2" amd the rear 3/8" and it fits alot better. Its my chassis not the tank. Put the Clark tank on my oem frame and it mounted good. mounted OEM tank on my chassis and fenders didnt fit to it either.

Interesting, glad you got it figured out. Spacing looks much better now, I wonder if those Roll frames were made to accept the larger IMS tanks and not look as goofy, if you know what I'm saying. :p

Just curious, what brand bar clamp is that you have with your Pro Design kill switch mounted to?

Thanks,
Dan

Since we are talking Full Bores....

I should pick my set up next week if all goes as planned. Seeing a new shiney white set will make you want to go with Full Bores Troy. :D You can't beat some of the shipped quotes I've been seeing, I'll have more in fuel costs by the time I have them in my posession. I was able to pick up some OEM parts, bearings, etc. while I was there. Damm Honda shop always puts a dent in the wallet. :grr:

Thanks guys. The clamp is a 1 1/8th LSR clamp and I welded a block of aluminum on to it for the tether switch. Wasnt room for it out on the bars with a push button switch there also, plus I like my tethers centered in the middle of the quad. Less apt to get the tether tangled up in something.
