I have a 400 with the mods in my sig and my question is how much faster would a 416 with 11.0:1 piston ,slip on ,and stage 2 cam be then my 400?

Really depends on your sprockets man.

416 would have a little more grunt.

More displacement is always more power, but the compression bump will help alot.

sprockets are stock.

is the extra compression i have enough to make it fairly even ?

well, if your turning the same RPM's with the same sprockets.. should be the same speed.

416 would get there quicker I think.

Yes, your only talking about 20ccs.

I though that the 20cc's would make a bigger difference than upping the compression.

Not really, more compression makes more power. When I used to help friends build car engines we would always do higher compression pistons and maybe a little overbore just to make sure the block was all good. But higher comp produces more power.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compression_ratio

that explains it a bit better

I did the same thing yrs ago...you will tell the differance for sure, you can also bump up to a 16 front sprocket because of the added power, an that will in turn increase your top end as well...you could also keep the bore stock an bump up to a high compression stock piston...they are usually lighter than a bigger bore piston an will rev. faster...at least Iv'e been told.
But the 416 is a nice fit for the 400EX....

.

Definitely. Anytime you lighten up the moving parts in the case you will rev up faster. A lighter piston also lessens the overall force when the piston reverses direction at the top of the stroke. That will increase durability at higher rpm's as well.

i have a stock bore high compression piston setup. 11.5:1 weisco and stage2 hotcam

I have a 416, and it is nasty, it will destroy a stock 400ex in a race!
