Was hoping to make it for the first Portland race, but not too sure now. :( Still need to get a few parts for my quad, then start (yes, start) putting it together! So much Honda work to do! So little time!:D

Hope you can make it! I'm in the same boat. I JUST started the assembly of my son's quad and mine is 80% done. Crunch time!

so if i change my mind for sunday... whats it going to cost me to race one class, not having an AMA card or anything yet?

also, practice saturday; quads only?

It'll be $35 for an AMA Membership and $15 for AMA Membership. I *think* racing is $25 or $3o per class. As you know, once you pay for the AMA & D14 membership, it's good for the year and you only may entry fees. The Open practice on Saturday is bikes and quads with a set time per "moto" for lack of a better term. I am thinking they'll run a batch of quads and a batch of bikes, etc.

Hope to see you there!

Well thats from this year.
Portland due to the hills and sand drains out and drys up very quickly. Looking at the forecast Id say things are looking good for the track!!! Very iffy for me equipment wise :eek2: WE will be there one way or another...might be finishing quads at the track.

now wait a second; i'm looking at the website and it says "OPEN PRACTICE, APRIL 9TH, 9AM TO 5 PM BIKES & QUADS $10 Gate & $15 to Ride Must be a D14 member to ride. "

..so i look into D14 membership and it's $15 for that... but IT says you must be an AMA member too (maybe these are actually the same thing?)

-to practice on saturday-, total out of pocket expense is what then??? $25, or will it be $40? or more than that???

:huh

You HAVE to have an AMA card to ride at practice on Saturday and you HAVE to be a District 14 member to race on Sunday. AMA is $39 and D14 is $15. Gate fee is $10 a day and practice is $15 on Saturday.
Yes you have to be an AMA member to be a D14 member. So if you are coming to practice you have to be an AMA member. If you are coming to race you have to be both AMA and District 14. You will need AMA and D14 memberships to race all D14 tracks.

After some confusion, I found out that you only need an AMA membership to run at open practice - no need for the D14 membership, however, for the race on Sunday, you'll need to sign up for D14.
