Is the 450 carb worth it??? i have been offered the chance to get one for less then 100 bucks...

How hard a install is it??? anything special i will need??? anyhelp hints would be awesome...

it is def worth it and the install is pretty easy with zr pilots adaptor. get the hot start stuff too if you can along with the throttle cable for it. then it is basically a bolt on type of deal if you have those items.

So... ZR adaptor?... the throttle cable? and the hot start stuff??

What's the hot start do?? sorry be not being as smart as i could be...

zr pilot is a member here that makes adaptors for installing it easily. it makes it slide into the intake tube easier since the 450r carb is bigger and doesnt fit without either grinding out some of the intake tube or running the adaptor.

the hot start plunger is needed along with the boot so that it seals off the hot start system. the cable and stuff is not needed and will be taken off. the boot is then rtved shut so that stuff doesnt get in there.

you will need the 450 cable since it is different than the 400ex cable. the throttle body on the bars can be taken apart and used with the new cable but the 450r carb has a different carb end on it.

do a search and start looking for stuff about it. there are a few different install threads around, i have one along with some that are in the stickies above.

Well.. i must find this ZR Pilot... to make life a bit easier... So i don't need the hot start?? but just enough of it to close it?

you dont need the cable~ if you look at a schematic of a 05 450r carb there are 2 numbers. 40 and 8 are needed from the schematic.

search zrpilot he just made a bunch more of them so he should probably have them ready to ship. its worth the 50 bucks for sure!
