ive toyed with this idea a few times, has anyone shoved a 600cc sport bike motor into their 400ex? wondering what kind of fitment issues are run into, lining up the front to rear sprockets, etc. im bound to crash my track bike this year and ill likely wreck it, itll give me a chance to buy a new one so im starting to think ahead. figured id rebuild the motor but for the same amount of money if my bike lasts me the summer ill just look for a motor to begin the swap :D

Never done it, but seen some custom builds on the net and in person before.

height will be an issue, may have to slightly rework the frame and mold the gas tank or raise it, exhaust is another problem as is mounting a radiator if the engine also has an oil cooler.

its possible but alot of work.

good points. wonder if id be better off looking for a gocart frame instead as its more open concept. or maybe looking for a small single seat dune buggy type thing without a motor and shoving this thing in. ill figure something out, ive got the urge to shove a big motor into something light

Any quad frame is going to be a PITA to put a sport bike motor in.

time to tear down the bike uch. lol put that thing you call a motorcycle to use haha. lol you come up with some crazy stuff dude. got an axle or anything for the hundy you want to get rid of haha. im gonna be in the market soon. I noticed you flashed in and out of msn a couple of times, didnt say hey though. :( i see how it is... :( gotta join facebook to hear from you. lol.

do i smell a project coming from the uch compound? shoulda kept that pred and actually made a machine out of it, by the look of your sig you still have it though... might be worth making something useful out of that thing they call an atv.

just yanking bro lol

jeez steve the 400 is a fun little machine. just to spite you ill shove a honda civic motor into it. lol.

nope pred is gone i just cant be bothered to go through the menus here and remove it from my sig, lol.

as for msn, i havent been on it in like a year, it only flashes me online when i physically check my email from a computer rather than my cell phone. not sure why it does it, its ****en dumb i tell ya. and yes join facebook, join the dark side, we have candy and ****. lol.

the bikes gonna get used dont you worry. ive got a list of goodies on it and a list of goodies for it that should make it quite the fun machine for track days.

heres a vid for you of my last track day, clutch was done in my street bike and you can hear it slip, didnt stop me from throwing beatings to bikes just at the 2 minute mark. you can see me riding up on a group and getting annoyed with them and then over taking through the main straight. end of that main straight im doing somewhere around 125- 130 mph :D

also i think its that one ill start off with a black zx12 who is a buddy of mine, once i get the tires warm i decide to leave him and then at the end of the second video i lap him, lol.

too bad you got rid of the pred. lol id never hack up a hundy lol. no matter if it was a honda motor or not (civic ) haha.

i notice the msn thing gets messed up with a bunch of us. i have a couple of buddies that go on and off constantly since their phone refreshes, logs in, times out, and repeats. lol

Lol the wife won't ride and i can't ride two at once. I don't think ill cut mine up but perhaps ill find a chassis i can build on. Right now im looking for a cheap go cart chassis. Wonder if any of the local places leave their carts out over night lol

get some piping and get nuts. :D we made one out of a snow blower once. went pretty good for not having a suspension. haha

once i get a garage maybe ill have some fun with some pipe and a bender. lol

find some arms, use the front end specs off of your 400 and a swinger for the back with room for 2 in the middle. would be pretty sick imo.

Ive been dying to find a complete rolling chassis cheap. Something like a honda, zuki or yami 450 or 400 should do. Prefer the 450 only b/c now a days aftermarket for them is much better than the older 400s.

Hardest part is getting the engine in there and lining up the chain, otherwise your A-OK.

There's always a lot of issues with conversions. People start them thinking that they just make motor mounts and line up the chain, but you'll have to do a lot more than that. Not trying to discourage you, just warning you, before you start it, and get in over your head and end up with a chopped up frame with no use for it.

My brother and I were throwing that around last night. I think if I'm going to have that much work I might go ahead and go 1000.

They were 50 to 70 more hp and just ball parking the weight, it should be right around 3 lbs per hp with the 08-10 1000 motor.....Bugatti Veyron is about 4 lbs/hp

Man I can't believe I've never found those before. That is awesome, but I love this one (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwZTWPHYSIA) for how it kept the factory lines and look.

those are interesting, i love the 1000 gix setup, this one here is pretty bad *** too

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f0PMXnYmxWk&feature=related

i was trying to negotiate a cart out of a guy today but he was asking more than i was willing to pay and after about 5 hours of back and forth text messaging i just told him to keep it. ill find a chassis im sure of it :D

also im gonna stick with a carbd setup for ease of wiring and stuff. i dont wanna get into having to deal with fuel injection and computers and crap, more to hook up more to trouble shoot

ill be honest with you, i live right by a nice strip of twisty roads and my buddy lives near a real nice grouping of them aswell and id like to strap my go pro to the go cart and get videos of me running the cops through there, lol
