I finally got one

I finally picked up a 86 250r. I got it for 1500 I thought that was a decent price considering the other one i found was 1800 and was ragged out. I have one problem though i replaced the coil cause it was losing connection and causing a weak spark making it bog but now it will run great for about a minute and start bogging down again. Does that sound like the stator is getting hot and breaking down? I have tried jetting it but it doesnt help so im thinking its a stator problem.

always check your ground first. make sure its not corroded and its is tight on a clean surface.

has a loose/dirty ground wire before and it would run weird.

Ok I will check that stuff. The thing had set for 6 months in his garage and he rode it an hour the whole time he had it. So when I got it I cleaned the carb cleaned the air box out where rats or something had tore the air filter up and made a mess in the air box. Replaced the rear brake pads, throttle cable and clutch cable. The motor is fresh though it had 180lbs of compression. The cylinder has ac engraved in it. Does anyone know what the ac stands for? I figure its where it has been port and polished just dont what the ac stands for.

Also it has a bills pipe. I have never owned anything with a bills pipe. Are they decent exhaust? It will probably get a complete tear down in a few months just so I can figure out what is done to the motor.
