Look down at the case where it connects to the clutch rod an lever...when you pull the clutch in is it moving the lever forward about 1/2" or more....you may have to take some slack out. Also make sure the lever returns back when you let off the clutch....

ya its movin about 1/2 an inch or more.... i tried to take some slack out but this didnt work either... think my cable may be stretched.... also i left it in reverse last night, does that matter?

Leaving it in gear should not make a difference.... i leave mine in gear all the time... i don't have a parking brake so thats my little sense of security... when the lever is released can you move the clutch arm(on the side case) in either direction???

Does it turn over???
Is it in neutral?
If your clutch arm does not move with the handle lever released then your clutch is out of adjustment... there should be a little play where the cable attatches to the clutch lever...

yes neutral and yes it does turn over... but no play in clutch arm....but it wouldnt turn over unless it was engaged so why wont it start?

In neutral it turns over... does it start?
In gear does not turn over... right???
Or while in gear turns over only when clutch handlever is pulled in???

What position is your kill switch located??? do you have a tether switch???

did you soak your plates in oil before your install? the could be frozen together.

did you put the lifter arm in correctly?

Make sure they were soaked in MC oil and make sure its the same oil you use. I use HP4 20W-50 all year round (I keep my 400ex in a heated garage at 60*F)
