View Full Version : 2011 Can Am Renegade 800 XXC Fire

Well yesteryday my dad got a Brand spakin new 2011 Can Am Renegade 800 XXC. One of the fastest quad I've rode! Today we went to Chadwick Missouri, well he and one of his friends helped a little kid get his dirtbike to the campsite because the chain snapped on it. Well he was coming back to our regular campsite and he went around a corner where you can whip the backend around and there was a tree to close. He must have hit the tree, it flipped over, withen 2 seconds the thing had caught on fire. He had been knocked out, and couldn't remember it. His foot was on fire and the whole back end was in flames. When his friend came to get us, he was in such a daze he thought he was in the twilight zone :eek: Well we had to get him to the highway and get a truck to pick him up. Well to shorten it up, he has a bruised rib and just really sore. Well atleast I got to ride it once! :D THANK GOD FOR INSURANCE!

You can see how hot it got, it melted the brake light.

Yeah.. Weirdest dang thing ever.. By the time we had got everything loaded up everybody knew about it.

Not too many people actually crash and burn an ATV.

wow sounds like the renagade has issues with fire ! probably gonna be a recall if it does that when you wreck.

there have been more then a few can ams burn. they put one away at the snowshoe gncc a few years back still smoking so people wouldnt see it. another 10 secs and i would have gotten a pic of it

I remember seeing one in Penland's trailer that wasn't even recognizable.

the pic i posted wasnt even the one i was talking about just another burnt can am pic i saved. i forget what race but for some reason im thinking it was a 6 or 12 hr race not sure though
