L 7 solobarics will destroy the alpine R's.. But the R's will sound really nice also and are cheaper then the L7's. My buddy had 3 12's in his tahoe, it pounded...

Depends on alot of things. They both suck IMO. You can get much better for the price of them.

Ive had CVRs and L7s and my buddy had alpines.

Fist off.. What amp? Building your own box? How much room you have to work with? Box plans?

Need more info.

honestly idk im just startin to get into it tonight and ive decided to get three instead of 4 cuz it will b cheaper but still bump hard and it will leave me room for stuff on the side im lookin round 400 on subs and 115 on amp and im not exactly wat all the numbers mean so if u can help me with most of it i apreciate it alot dont worry tho i have a pretty good idea on how to wire them and if im gettin 3 im gona need a 3 channel amp right?

Not at all. Run a mono amp.

Never cheap out on an amp.

Running 3 is kinda stupid IMO. Either run 2 or 4.

With 3 D4 ohm subs you will be running a 2.6 ohm load..

With 3 D2 ohm subs you will be running 1.3 ohm load..

Just go with 2 dual 4 ohm subs and get an amp that is stable to 1 ohm.

Are you wanting 8"s, 10"s, 12"s, 15"s, 18"s, 21"s?

I personally would do 2 AQ SDC2.5 15"s or 12"s on an AQ 1200D. I love Audioque. Ive had an AQ3500d, AQ1200D, 2 HDC3 10"s and an HDC3 18". They have great products.

What exactly are you confused about? That's the part we can really help you. Are you unsure about series and parallel wiring? Peak vs. RMS output? Class A and Class D amps? Bridged, mono, THD, what are you struggling with?

i was running a thousand watt amp and single 12in JL W6 in my car. it hit so hard the front license plate vibrated. came through crystal clear too. i ended up having to figure out a way to reinforce the rear view mirror to keep it from falling off the windshield lol

No I dont think you should. I know you should run a mono amp. :p

Again IMO you should do 2 or 4 subs. From what ive gathered so far you dont know much about wiring subs or amps and dont know what alot means.

Here is a good site for you to check out how to wire subs.

3 subs = Dumb unless you're going to run an amp per sub.

2 12s under the seat of a 1500 with a good amp and everything correct, you will have plenty of bass. There's a lot of "systems" out there put together by guys who didn't know what they were doing that are not near as loud or sound as good as they could be.

I've got a 13w7 in a ported long box with 1500 and it hits harder than anything else I've heard other than like 4 15's or 4 18's

Good place I found to get some prices is www.crutchfield.com

I honestly dont know much about this stuff. One of my bros friends does this stuff for a living so he hooked me up.

KickStart can help ya with the ohm and stability stuff haha cause I honestly have no idea.

My speakers were about $100 for the front and $100 for the rear.. And I'll have to check on my amp and subs but my head unit was like $330.

You got it man. I think as long as everything is set up well it will sound good. Just please don't get stuff from wal-mart or auto-zone haha.

I prefer Quality over Quantity.
;)

You can get just as loud if not louder with 2 nice subs than 4 cheap subs.

Crutchfield is one of the biggest rip offs out there.. If you do some searches on the web you can find great speakers for a ton cheaper then they sell them for at CF.. Find ones that are good, have great reviews, perhaps visit a audio shop and listen to them for your self.. Kicker has got very cheap in price, their subs still ***n pound.. Hell just about any second name speaker will satisfy the normal person. It is not like it was 20 years ago when you paid to have THE best..
