This is in regards to part number 90102-HN5-670 ....
All it is......... is a "SPECIAL SCREW"... But what size is it really?? and can't i just goto the hardware store and get one similar??

it's the little allen head screw that goes into the side plastics on the 04 and ealier 400ex's...

I had no idea which screw you were talking about so I looked it up.

I replaced those screws on mine a long time ago with stainless steel bolts and washers I got at my local hardware store. Nothing special about them lol.

What size are they tho??? i don't think the people at home depot are gonna be happy when i drive my wheeler down the aisle to find a screw for it...

Take one of the old bolts to the hardware store with you. My local mom&pop shop has a gauge that allows you to determine size, pitch, etc of unknown bolts, but if that isn't available you can always try your bolt against some of the available nuts until you find the correct size then buy bolts accordingly.

if you do not have a tap set that you could thread it into but you do have a local autozone they usually have a plate with threaded holes that you can screw one into to see what thread it is...not a big autozone guy but i def have used that if im not near a tap set.....

i believe those bolts are 6mm with an 8mm head though if i remember right...i had mismatched when i got my bike and had to put two in with the same size heads

just get the 6m phillips or hex, dosent matter, and put a washer under the head, you'll be fine.

Exactly.

The bolts are 6M like tri5ron said, but i'm not sure of the thread pitch. If you had one of the old bolts, you could thread it into the gauge at the hardware store and you will instantly know the size/pitch of the bolt.

Nearly all (if not all) of the 6mm bolts on the 400ex are M6x1.0.
