Mine gets the carb closer to the air tube after it has shrunk over the last 20 years. LOL!

no i have one but i just wanted some opinions on if it actually added any sort of performance, because i have always ran one but didnt kno. I have heard many things, that they add bottom end that they make better throttle response because the fuel can mix or turn to vapors better? and that they simply just make it easier to install the boot like u guys said.

i remember a fews years back the Trinity Racing website had an explanation for the reed spacer. if you ran it in front of the reeds you create more volume in the crankcase, if you ran it behind the reeds you create more volume between the carb and the reeds. one was supposed to create more bottom end and the other more top end. dont remember which is which.

A reed spacer gives the fuel/air more time to atomize wich helps it burn better. It is the same concept as putting a riser on your car. I have been told though that in order for a reed spacer to work properly it would have to be like 2" thick to provide enough space for the mixture to atomize. I still run one though.

This is the only reason I still have my reed spacer on.

a dyno sheet for any 2-stroke with the spacer on and removed might clear a few things up. on the other hand it might not show any benefits with dyno results. as we know, a dyno has its limits.
