Intake valve adjustment.

Friends bike wouldn't start. Cleaned carb, went through all wiring. Everything OK. Went to adjust valves, Exhaust was spot on, Intake - One had a closed gap and the other had too big a gap. Readjusted and it fired up nice. Could this have solved his problem or could there be something else goin on that I should check also ???? Why would these valves be off like that ????

Bent valve, stretched timing chain, bad tensioner possibly.Or just never were adjusted valves.

So it fired and runs fine now? No loud ticking or issues?

No issues. It is an older bike, He says hes never adjusted them. Runs good now, Does sound like the chain might be stretched a bit though.

Id say its probably time to replace the chain if its never been done.
