wire on carb question (not the tps)

I have a flat slide for my 05 and it hits the tank so i have decided to cut the carb. My motor builder says that many people cut the wires off. Does anyone know what it does and what exactly could happen if i cut it? i dont want to cut it and find out i probably shouldnt have

that's the carb safety in case the throttle body is stuck open and your throttle lever is closed it shuts down the spark!!

I just did a drawing explaining it!!i will post it for you so you can understand what its doing!!

but on the 05 your cdi doesnt even need it or have any place to plug in it if you wanted to so yes just cut and get ride of it
