Hey guys, my friend rides dirtbikes but is rich and has a 400 witha czr pipe. My other friend, who has only ridden maybe 10 hours in his life says that on my other friend's 400 he'll destroy me! Putting myself as an intermediate skill level, do you think i could beat him out of the hole or around a track? Mods on my bike are in sig by the way...

if he can ride at all no. You really don't have that much done to your motor to help with speed.

I sugest you get rid of that K&N and buy a uni...K&N will help with power but they let to much dust in for off road riding.

also, find you a 400ex carb, they are cheap and really add a lot of power. This will really complement your cam mod.

the last 300ex we built was for XC racing. My son ran the schoolboy class. We showed up at an OMA race and they started his class with several others. He could beat about any of them out of the hole but it was short lived. After about 30 yards the bigger bikes would come back strong.

The only mods to the motor was

HMF silencer, uni filter and 400ex carb and some major mods to the airbox and intake.....that qaud would really pull good and it was very dependable. We ran it the entire season and never pulled the head off.

so if i just put a 400 carb on mine i should be able to take down an inexperienced rider on a 400ex? i will eventually upgrade to a better silencer, but for now the carb will be my best bet. where should i start on of jetting?

i agree re gear it...but to me its all about rider skill...ive passed 450 dirtbikes on tracks and kept up with them... who ever can hit all the jumps in the best line wins
