Does anyone know if a 350x rear shock and linkage will fit the 300? Or, if i had a bracket built, would a 250r shock work on a no link setup?

Note: i read that the 350x shock is 14 1/2 in, the same length as a raptor shock

I have a cherry 350x shock and lower mount if interested. I think you would need a way to adapt the lower mount to your swingarm, the 350X has a clevis style lower mount not a solid bushing type like the stock 300ex shock. I can tell you that if you get a 350X swingarm and make a bushing for the front pivot tube it will fit in the 300 frame with no problems

Many years ago we installed a 350x shock on a 250x swingarm. I think we welded the 350x lower knuckle to the swingarm and bolted the shock directly to it . All I remember is it rode like a rock. If your going to try it I suggest using the swingarm and linkage as well. Not that thats a very impressive setup anyways.

It does have one helava spring on it.... :eek2: but would prob be a decent ride combined with the 350x swinger.

to use the 350x shock you have to drill out the top bolt hole or shim the holes in the frame. the 300ex stock swing arm will not work with the 350x bottom bracket you can bolt the bottom of the shock to the 300ex swing arm there is a link on here showing that.

Wait, dabomb, you had the whole 350x etup on your 300 right? Is there a difference between 85 & 86 350x swingers?

The only diff is the brake setup, dimensionaly they are the same

The swing arms are the same length and everything. Like miniquaddad90 said the only difference is the brake set up there is a difference in the carriers and the sprocket mount on the axle. And it does make the bike handle and ride stiffer but i also added the 400ex front so the ride completely different from stock.

The '86 swing arm uses the same brake set up like the 300ex.

TONS of 85 swingers on ebay, cheap. I just modded a 86 swinger to fit a TRX90

All the ebay swingers are 85! If i want to use my 300ex brakes, will the 85 swinger still work?

It will still work, just need the caliper mount and "torque" arm

Not sure on the ride with the 350x shock. I have both a super nice 350x shock and a Banshee shock if interested
