Hey everyone,

I picked up a '92 Legend LS coupe today for $450. Needs a transmission. She has about 120,000 miles (210,000 km). Black/black.

My plan is to get her road legal (aka new transmission + windshield) and then start addressing the smaller issues and adding on some aftermarket parts. I have found a Legend coupe (91 I think) nearby someone is parting out, the guy has informed me he has a good windshield, as well as a manual transmission and everything I need to do the swap (speedo, pedals, center console).

Here's some pictures. Keep in mind she's a PROJECT.

Leaving our farm this morning at 5:55 AM with my dad to pick up the car.

Not to shabby at all. I like those old hondas.

Thanks guys.

CJM, I really like any old Japanese "luxury" car. Especially when you see pics of them done up in the VIP style (lowered with big wheels). I won't be lowering this thing more than an inch at most, and I won't be rocking huge wheels. From what I've read about the Legends, they were ahead of their time for the most part. Whenever I see them, I think they look closer to 10 years old than 20.

BTW, I found an auto tranny from a Japanese parts dealer for $250 with a 3 month warranty. I think that manual transmission I was talking about might be sold anyways.

They are nice cars indeed, very classy-comparable to a much higher end than the typical honda stuff of the time.

An auto tranny would be best, you woulda had alot of work to swap in the manual.

Yeah you're probably right about the transmission swap. Down the road, if I find a find a manual transmission in better condition than the one I was looking at (the guy said it had 312,000 km or something, needed some clutch work, etc) then I'll scoop it up and make the swap. I think my dad wants to tinker with the current transmissions (the seller actually included the original transmission, as well as the replacement which is currently installed). If that fails then I'll pick up one of the JDM ones for $250 and call it a day I suppose.

Nah it's the 3.2l V6. Good for 200hp, not sure about torque. If you could do 210 with a 2.7... hopefully the 3.2 should be able to do that as well!

you should consider a 6 speed swap. we did it on my brothers legend and were nothing but happy with it.
