Alright I know there's bound to be someone on here who rides bmx. I'm really want to start riding some this summer mainly parks. What's a reliable entry level bike. I don't want to spend a fortune but I also don't want to break ****. Help me out!

^^This. But honestly most of the entry level bikes are the same.

I'd look on craigslist for a while and see if anything good comes up. Stay away from the 3 million DK's and haro's that are on there though. One of my friends found a Sunday complete on there for like $200.

danscomp has the cheapest prices i've ever seen anywhere. a decent bmx bike at minimum should have a 14mm axles, 3 piece cranks, double wall rims, u-brakes, seat post with a rail, free wheel, preferably 48 spoked wheel. imo this is a decent starting point. there is nothing wrong with dk's and haro's. dave mirra won quite a few gold medal's on a haro. dk's have ridden by gold medal winners too. please don't leave your bike in the rain.

Dont worry I won't I take care of my stuff lol. What about the frame itself, is there a certain style bottom bracket, top tube length, etc. i should look for? Or is that more preference.

Blackeye or Diamondback for entry level.

as long as it's a 20" bike, no worries. if it's too big or too small, get shorter cranks, lower/raise the post, bigger/smaller bars. it's one size fit's all if average height.

this can help determine your crank length

this is the bottom brackets

http://www.danscomp.com/serve.php?serve=products/charts&html=bearingchart.htm

all bottom brackets are just as good imo unless it's an open bearing.

you'll also notice how the brakes actually work compared to a wal-mart bike. bmx can be cheap if you want it to be but yet it's costly. i have around $500 in my back wheel because it takes the most abuse. the thing i like about bmx/mountain bikes is the are costly at first but the parts that usually wear out are somewhat cheap and they are simple and tough if you get the right one.

Finally talked to him last night. It's a stolen goblin. I can probably get it for about $200. It's identical to this but has a different seat.

Its so funny that the new BMX bikes sell for around the same price as they did 25yrs ago but everything else has doubled ! My Hutch was $200 in 85" wish I had pics of it All chrome with black acsents sprokets, grips, decals. those frame were tough I jumped 10ft plus and landed on flat ground many times without a crack on frame ! Hurt like hell to land but was a tough frame !
