I've read that a 250r cable will fit are 400s and that you can bypass the headers. Well will a 250x cable work also and does it just bolt up I tryed seachering but no luck.

You want a 1992 250X clutch cable, not the R. it will bolt right up, run it along the frame near the oil tank of the right side and right into the clutch arm.

If mine ever goes tits up Im doing it, right now its perfect between the headers somehow or another I bent the bracket good.

Ok thanks mine was fine to untill I had the bright idea of taken the motor mounts off and painting them black and evadently I didn't put the bracket back on right and well you know the rest lol.

yep yep, stuff happens dont feel so bad. my clutch lever busted and I just left the cable hanging and was power shifting just testing some stuff out. I burnt mine solid. Then I got another cable and it was burning too cause I broke the mount. Bought a new mount and its all ok lol..
