To anyone running GT thunder swinger links is their a gard to keep it from getting bashed up or has anyone had issues. I noticed that it hangs down quit a bit.

We are running one on my boys quad and it does take a beating, lI have seen other brands with a replaceable piece to absorb the beating. Even though it looks rough I imagine it will out live many other parts on the quad. I would post a pic of how it looks but he is actually off at a OXC race today.

My link has been on my bike since the beginning of 09'. I haven't had any issues with it breaking, cracking, ect. The only problem I do have is that my middle bearing where the lower shock mounts too is ovaled out but that is my fault because I didn't check the bearings as often. They have wore out in 6 months so just check the bearings frequently and you will be good to go. It definantly lowers the center of gravity and makes the ride much nicer IMO.

I got a 1" wide piece of aluminum .25" thick and bolted it to the link. I drilled and tapped 2 .25"-20 holes in the link and countersunk the bolts in the aluminum guard. It came out awesome. I'll try to post pics later.

I wanted to use stainless but I had the aluminum laying around. stainless would be much better.
