How well can an 02 LT80 compete in a XC 90cc stk class? my boy is 9 1/2 and on his 2 stroke kymco 50 stock on a tight woods track was keeping pace with the DRR50's in the 50 production class, so he can ride. We are undecided on what to do as far as build a 70 or go to 90 stk on the LT80. I would wanna widen it a bit and upgrade wheels/tires obviously. is there any restrictor to remove from the variator or anything on the 80? It is an 02 with maybe 30 hours on it. Any thoughts are appreciated.

My kid does well locally. Its a little slower than a Predator 2st 90 and the Apexs are quite a bit faster.Best and first mods should be shocks. You can get wheel spacers to widen it in front and just flip the rims for back.

I can make you a motor to keep up with any of them.
Having a suspension to keep up is the problem.

Well, my motor has to stay stk, as does suspension-other than changing frt shocks as per the rules in our stk class. Also, DRR's, Apex's, etc cannot run our stk class so it is all Predators, Outlaws, TRX90's etc. I was thinking wheel spacers, wheels/tires, and a killswitch LOL!

The spacers are a good idea! The wider the better.
Of course a tether. LOL. It connects under the hood. Red/black wire. :)

LOL! Well, he is not really excited about running a stk 80 in the 90 class, especially when we have a 70 kasea with a hetrick engine sitting i the garage LOL! He likes the sound of it I think more than anything, however i think something isn't right when the LT80 with my 215 lbs butt on it will outrun the 70 with his 85 lbs on it. Not sure which avenue to persue.
