fcr question

when you guys cut the top of the carb so that it clears the gas tank if you have an 05, what do you do so that it doesnt get dirty in that part of the carb?

I just took a piece of thin metal and small short rivets and bent it over then put a layer of permatex over the metal. So first cut the piece to the width and then bend it according i kept my outer plastic cover in place then on the part that still sticks up carefully drill 2 holes for your rivets 1/8-1/8 then apply the permatex clamp your piece tight with vicegrips then put in your rivets and a 1/4 inch layer on top let dry over night if you do it right the metal will cover the cut part of the cover and the permatex will protect the tank from abrasion. I did this a year ago and no problems yet if you need pics i will try to upload.

if you get an fcr off a dirtbike instead of the trx from what i have read it will clear just fine, its the quad carbs that need modding
