I'm thinking about getting a high capacity oil reservior. Will one fit on my 400EX with my Denton stabilizer? Do you think they actually benefit the motor?

I'm having a 416 kit installed as we speak, and I feel keeping the motor a little cooler will prolong engine life.

Where did you get yours? How's the quality? How much was it?

Thanks.

Smart choice in getting a larger oil tank. I got one for the same reason your thinking about getting one. I got mine from CFM Performance, with the tubes going through them. Alot cheaper and better welds than a Pigrys oil tank. Give Neal a shout and tell him Matthew sent you.

$200.00 plus $9.00 for shipping if I remember correctly. He also makes the oil tanks with out the tubes for $169.00

Will it get in the way of a steering damper?

i wanted one but its gonna interfere with my headpipe:grr i may have to contact cfm and have the mounts moved.

it shouldnt interfere with the stabilizer....and if it does you have a few other mounting options.

I've been looking at these as well. Rocky Mountain has this one.
http://www.rockymountainatv.com/product_graphics/UM_TRX400_OIL.JPG (It's in the catalog under Aluminum)

It looks like it has a heat shield too. Only a 1/2 quart larger though. Someone told me they took the oil temp with the Pingry and it was hotter than stock, because it's so close to the head pipe. My buddy's steering stabilizer (Sorry don't remember the brand) would not allow him to use a Pingry. ??

The Duncan racing one looks cool
http://www.duncanracing.com/newproducts/ But it's $399 and includes new lines. Holds 20oz. more.

How much larger is the CFM brand?

Decisions decisions.....
