my buddys got a 05 kx85 it has like no compression. and he bought it about 3 weeks ago. i went to check the spark plug to day to see if that was why it wasnt starting and it was barley screwed on. and now it has like no compression and dosent wana start.does it need new rings or what? pleaseee hellp!!

You are gonna need a new top end. Most likely, the rings went out causing blow by which is what made the compression drop. How are you testing your compression?

FYI: 2-Strokes Require Top-End Re-Builds about once a year, or twice if you put on a-lot of hours. I would always immediatly rebuild the top end of any used 2-stroke vehicle that you buy. I didn't rebuild and regret not doing that, because now i am picking up the pieces from a kx250 that blew up.

yeaa cause it just randomly lost it compression.and could someone explain a top end rebuild to me?
