My t4 has a hose clamp on it. I'm trying to find the correct clamp for it if anyone knows where to get one. I called pro circuit and they said there exhaust dont clamps WTF. i could use an car exhaust clamp but i think one that fit in both tapers would work better. Thanks

I dont know what the end of the exhaust looks like that connects to your header, but this is what I used on my custom exhaust header I made:

http://www.bikebandit.com/cobra-stainless-motorcycle-exhaust-t-bolt-clamps

I took the end of the muffler where it meets the header and cut 4 1.5inch long slits vertically in a cross + like pattern and then slipped this bad boy on and cranked it down with an impact gun with no issues.

You need to find a thinner T-bolt setup like I linked that will fit in that groove.

I think your gonna be stuck with a regular exhaust U bolt tho. Your not really gonna see it so I wouldnt worry to much about using one.

Im not worried about looks but just seems like it would be easy to mash the pipe while tightening a u bolt. i cant believe pro circuit said none of there exhaust use clamps. they are window lickers. i guess i will try u bolt and not over tighten it hopefully. I know the exhaust came with the right clamp but guess ill never find one now. Thanks CJM

Ebay perhaps?

I wouldnt worry to much about overtightening it, you want it solid so it doesnt leak. Little bit of copper hi-temp silicone to seal it up is what I use.

OK cool. Ill coat it with some rtv copper and put a geo metro clamp on there and call it good for next 100,000 miles. If it comes apart ill buy a new one

my t-4 is nothing like that. i dont run a clamp at all on mine.

i think that is a custom job there from someone with a grinder.

Mine is the first t4 they made and someone cut the slits in it but it hasn't been grinded or changed besides the slits cut

FASTENAL has a wide selection of T-Bolt clamps and much less than $9, they should be able to help you, this is where I went (have one right in town), what size and how wide to you need it, I may even have a couple extra, I think I have one for 1 7/8-2in. and 2 1/4-2 3/8in. if I remember right

Thats what i was referring to, it looked like someone took a thin grinder wheel and cut slots in it. mine is also a first gen t-4 with the normal looking cap on it. i have never had any issues with it leaking enough to worry about. with the slots cut in it you will def have to seal it.

Yeah I don't know why they cut slits in it. I should be able to get it to work until I get the cash for a new exhaust

definitely, i think they did it so it would seal better with a clamp. i guess that would be the only reason i can think of, although it basically ruined it cause theres no need to do that. sad to see people messing stuff up like that.

My old T-4 slip on came with a wide 2 bolt clamp, so yes they did have a clamp at one time, this actually may have been the stock clamp, cant remember

I have the older T-4 on my ex too, doesn't look like it ever had a clamp on it. That sucker leaks and leaves soot all over the subframe. They look like they came with something inside the pipe to seal the connection but it must be all worn out :(

I packed the groove inside the pipe with rvt ultra copper and let it dry. I'm going to put another coat on right before I slide it on then clamp it with a 1.5" automotive clamp will let you know how it works out
