I was wondering why the JE pistons are used more than Wiseco?? Most of the engine builders use the JE and was wondering why you don't see Wiseco. Is it the quality, price ect....??

JE & ROSS are a little more high performance than wiesco from what i hear. The ross piston i have is about 40gms lighter than a wiesco.thats alot.My 87mm was 275gms.

A lot of builders say the wiseco isn't the compression it states. Mickey Dunlap of Four Stroke Tech told me the 11:1 wiseco is more like a true 9.5:1, the Je is what it states a true 11:1

I've never heard of Lost Creek Cycles, but I know everyone has heard of Four Stroke Tech, Curtis Sparks, Duncan Racing, Ct Racing, Lrd Performance, and none of them run Wiseco as their Piston of choice. These are the main and biggt engine builders in the nation. I think they'll know a little more than Lost Creek Cycles. I'm not saying Wiseco is bad, they're just not as good.

I was told by a reputable engine builder that JE is made by wiseco. Wiseco bought the company out a while back. The desing is different as a JE seems to have a domed head on it. I'm not sure any of them are any better than the rest. I ran a 440 JE kit and it ran great. My buddy had a Wiseco kit and it smoked. In the end it had nothing to do with the pistions though. I think all pistons perform well.

Mickey Dunlap sells a Wiseco piston that he has made just for his 440 kits that are true 11:1 comp.
