I know the yfz450 front brakes are a dirrect bolt up on the front but is there a direct bolt up replacement for the rear?

not sure if there is a direct bolt on replacement upgrade, but the 450r rear brake caliper and disc is worth the money. the 400ex brake disc is pretty large and hangs down quite a bit where as the 450r brake disc is like a inch smaller I think.

but I wonder maybe if a street bike rear brake might be a close fit? I got a cbr f4i, might do some measuring and see if the bolt holes are close....

Honestly I changed to stainless lines and it made a difference. If your wanting clearance then the 450r brake setup is what you need.

Do you really use the rear brake? I almost never use it

The only upgrade for the rear that I'm aware of is the 450r setup. You'll need the rotor and hub, brake stay and caliper. The rotor is about an 1" smaller, the brake pads are easier to change and it offers much better modulation than the stock EX setup.
