hey guys my brother bought a used LSR axle that he was told was for a 400ex..well his 400ex hubs wont fit on the splines and we counted the splines on the axle and we got 25..so im assuming its from a 250r? will this work in his 400ex if he gets 250r hubs? This is the part number stamped in the middle if anyone could look it up: LS-H1-06/01-213..Thanks guys.

may seem like a pain... goto a site like servicehonda.com and get the part numbers for the axle... and cross reference it... also with the wheels... hubs.... i know it seems like a bit of work... but atlleast you'll know what you can do..

my friend has a 400ex we are going through the same thing lol. He has a durablue with 25 splines on his. It fits, but there are certain things 250r that you need I think just the antifade nut. google 250r axle in 400ex there are some old threads from like 2003 or so that goes through a list of what you need. We are successfully running a 250r axle in a 400ex

well what i know is that i got a lone star axle +2+4 on my 400ex.....but if u get in the aftermarket part book at honda dealer or yamaha dealer and look 250r and 400ex have the same part number on everything beside anything that have to do with a motor......on the 250r.......

yes it will work. you just need the trx250r hubs, and id recommend getting the trx250r anti fade hub.

so are the splines on the 400ex brake hub the same as the 250r? and the threads for the lock nut are longer on a 250r compared to a 400ex lock nut?

if u have a 250r axle it well fit in ur 400ex..........the one thing idk is if ur 400ex hub well fit so u may need to buy 250r hub

just go on the 250r forum dude. There is a sticky at the top that has a comparison chart for the 250r/450r/400ex.

You could find all your answers much quicker that way.

the axles are all interchangeable, but like you already mentioned, the hubs have to be used for the proper axle.

on my friends, the brake hub looks to be the same as the one on my 400ex. We will be working on his tonight i will check for sure and post back later tonight. I think you just need the hubs and the locknut assembly

The stickey in the 250r forum is wrong...they just say you need to use the 250r hubs...thats not all you need to do!

Yes 400ex brake hub, lock nut and threaded sleeve will work,or for that matter I'm using the 450r ones those parts are all interchangeable. The problem I'm having is on the sprocket hub side.I have an RPM Dominator axle with the race hub off of a 250r.The only way it will line up centered in the carrier is if you put a spacer between the hub and the carrier bearing.
