I have a spare 300ex motor that was given to me a while back and have purchased a 89 250r roller that I have stripped to the bare frame. Is there anyone on here that has exp with this conversion. I am looking to build a fun project and would like to have the bike be trail ready, but have the suspension/chassis or the R. Any help would be great.

Contact 250Renvy

He's got a few motors and a Laeger 250R chassis that is modded to accept the 300ex motor

I believe thats the frame 250Renvy on here owns. Maybe send him a PM. Im sure he will see this post eventually, but a PM might speed up that process.

EDIT: I think Langbolt was typing at the same time as myself lol

John, I was wondering where you got that photo, then remembered your buddy was interested.

Motoman011 - The conversion is fairly simple, but I'll give you this advice from someone who tried to build one of these with the frame already built for it. - It's a pain in the arse. The thing that you will find is that it is also not worth the money involved.

There is just not enough power to justify the build. Lastly an 89 frame is a terrible thing to waste on a build like that. I would build the 250R as a 250R. If you want it to be mild, don't build something that is done up majorly and you will thank yourself later.

Sell your 300ex motor and try to buy a 250R motor.

BTW, I sold the frame that is posted and here on ebay.

I still have another, but a bigger motor - possibly ktm and another 2-stroke is going in it.
