Hey guys, I am looking for some ideas with my MX track... I have run out... I've only got a few days to roughly draw this up. Any help is appreciated... I can scan in or e-mail anyone the blank template of the land if they want it if they are bored.... again please let me know what you think...

i think you should focus some more jumps on the track and not the start so you hit them more

It really comes down to what you are looking for in a track
To keep a track fun to ride is that it must flow rite. If it doesn’t flow you will get board with it. Make the peeks of the jumps just far enough to be challenging but doable.

also make it so you can run forwards and backwards so you basicly have 2 tracks then.

THing is, i am a total amatuer when it comes to this... i have the equipment to build anything. I really want a fun track that won't be to hard, but challenging so that i can always be getting better.

do you only hit the start section once? if so you should place the jumps on your start straight around your track and not worry about the start you can always practice your holeshot on any flat empty stretch

I agree, there's a ton of stuff on the start that you'll only hit once, instead place it on the track where you'll hit it each lap. Are you using the track for training or just for fun?

It looks like you have a really short time to stop after your big table. Make sure you have enough time to stop without making it dangerous if you have multiple riders.

You’re not telling us what your type of riding you want to do so it’s hard to say what to do.
Give us some idea of what you want, mx, xc, flat track a little more details please.

It will take some trial and error till you get it the way you want. And since you have the equipment you can change things as you go.

IMO there's too much track with nothing on it, add more stuff to all the flat area. Riding down a long flat straight wont get you as in shape as much as a rhythm section or whoops

The blank parts are there beccause i haven't designed them yet... I am gonna re-do the whole track plan today. Bent, it is a full MX/SX track. Then we have flat track on the outside for cars, go carts, atv, etc....

Ill put the updated plans on tonight... eliminated that first stretch for the start, and put the start with a curve and some other stuff.

Okay. here is the update... I am very un-creative so anything to make it harder or more unique... I am looking for some detail here that i am over looking... BE CRITICAL!! This is not a track for beginners, so please keep that in mind.

Where?? The only place is the upper left and the center of the track. The center of the track will have a Firepit/BBQ area and a R/C track.

blaster12s

the whole center...i didnt look at the dementions but from your drawing i feel like you can get alot more just making it like a supercorss track....back and forth back and forth

2nd attempt is much better most important is to keep it fun for you dont get over your head makes sure it is within your abilities its way more fun if your doing all the jumps with confidence instead of being scared to hit something

a practice track is to build confidence and all around skill on any track you may come across racing so take cues from other tracks you have been to and features you liked about them

By multiple options, what do you mean??? Like a whoop/ ryhtym on one side and a triple or double on the other?

Does any have a SX track layout i can look at to try to setup that style?? Thing is, i minimal space to work with, and i still need room for the R/C and Flattrack and BBQ/Firepit area.

Just for ideas

Also here's a vid from a track I ride at all the time, they're limited on space and make the most of it, really fun track

saw this in a huevos vid put in a section where you have to jump over a little water pit if you dont go far enough youll land in the water if you go far enough youll miss it i just thought that was a cool idea

try to set it up so you can change the direction of the track with minimal effort and even have it so that the corners could be altered. This way you can easily redisign the track every couple of months.

They have a dozer and a big front end loader, but they change the track around all the time.

Thanks. I've got two Skid-Loaders and a tractor with all the implements needed.

My opinion.. start working on it and let the rest come to you. You will have more than enough time to think of what you want when you're moving all that dirt. Also, most jumps/sections you will change multiple times after you hit them.

X2. My track got built on the fly. Get a general idea of what you want because it will change while you are building it. Also a common problem that I've run into on a lot of tracks, including mine which isn't done yet, is too much open space between obsticals. I built what I thought would be a nice flowing track and it actually turned into something that you could hit every jump in 3rd. Most of mine is done so its a little more difficult to move things after they are built as opposed to moving them while you are still building so be sure to ride and build at the same time. Build something then go hit it and make sure it flows like you want it to. It will be easier to build it that way rather then finish it and then have to come back and fix it.

Yes, you can't always visualize if a jump is perfect. I'm guessing you have a dirt source? You will be surprised how much dirt is in a table top. It took 25 dump truck loads to make a 25' table haha
