i dont personally have a 400ex, but one suggestion is use the choke, another is maybe just drag it around with another quad til it starts:devil

get a bigger pilot jet, go to a 42 pilot and you should be good. Check out the faq forum and they will go into your question in detail.

try this it works for me everytime- put the choke on full. then pump the gas three or 4 times. then start it. it should fire up and run for a little bit. just keep doin that till shes warm enough

I have found that just a squirt of Starting Fluid will fire mine up evertime, I have removed the choke and put the 42 pilot in also and this seems to do the trick.

I have a removed choke, and put in a 42 pilot jet. A few stabs at the throttle and hit the start button works every time for me.

i use a propane heater to warm up my raptor when it's really cold. it's got to be hard on them when everything is froze .

Just change the spark plug and see if its any better. Put the choke on all the way. I usually hit the gas when its turning over and it starts. I dont know if id use starting fluid i've heard that its not good but who knows?
