Ill post all the pic in this first post and just but another post saying i posted more pics.
Some of you may not know the story on my 426, well i bought it blown up. Intended on putting 500$ in it and selling it to make some profit then i wanted to do more and more work to it and now im here with it haha. If i sold it now i would more than likely lose money
But anyway onto the pics. Sorry for quality most are cell phone pics.
When i first bought it

Got a different hub from my buddy so i got it on got my wheels on and got it on the ground.
The front end is suprising stiff but i like it as for the rear it seems soft prob a little to soft so ill see if i can tighten the spring up or mayb ill send out my extra rear shock so i can still ride some while its on its way back.

what are the weight differences of the LSR vs. stock swinger?
did you have your rear shock get the GT thunder treatment to match the fronts?

Not sure on exact weight differences, but i know the LSR is alot heavier than the stock one.
Also no i didnt get the rear shock done but i am seriously considering it now cause i tightened it up some and its still pretty soft. Think i may get it resprug at least.
Also i posted some new pics in the first post

I plan on pretty much getting this thing done today.
Want to check the carb because im pretty sure i only have a 165 in the stock carb which ill run for now ill put the 450r carb on later after i get some of the bugs worked out and get the suspension set up the way i want it.
Mayb ill throw the plastic on just to snap some more pics to see what it looks like.
Its still raining here so i prob wont get any good pictures yet but mayb sometime this week ill take it for a little breakin ride and snap some pics.

man good looking build but do yourself a favor and hack off that long piece of plastic hanging down on the front plastics. looks tacky. cut it off at an angle right underneath that bottom bolt.
you can somewhat see how i done it on my 400

Looks like a seat lock.
Yea its a more positive seat lock. I like the idea and might do it one day, IDK.
I shimmed my latch on the frame itself with some 1/8 thick washers and it makes the seat lock down harder but it stays put.
PaRedneckRiders
03-10-2011, 07:50 PM
Yes it is an aftermarket seat latch i dont really need it i never had problems with the stock one but figured what the heck ill give it a try.

Plan on breaking this thing out tomorrow, hopefully its not snowing or raining.
Ill just be putting around a big field across from my house so im not gonna put breaks on yet.
Im going to pick a 180 and 185 main up tomorrow instead of the 165 thats in it so its really lean right now.
Ill get some more and better pictures tomorrow so for now i go these.

Got the 185 jet in and started riding it today, WELL GO FIGURE SOMETHING WENT WRONG:cuss:
I replaced the stock shock i got with the quad because it was blown out. Well turns out i think this one is blown too.
Something is blowing oil all over the back of my frame, swingarm, and back of the motor and the front of the shock is like soaked in oil so im assuming thats what it is.
Ive got a week to get this thing done for PRP and now i need a shock:mad:
I talked to one person who says he may have a stock one but i know i would rather have an aftermarket or redone one at least
Anyone willing to let loose a 400ex shock hit me up and ill see what i can do for ya.
Im out with some pictures for now gonna go pull this shock off and throw it in a ditch or something, stupid POS.
The pics were from pretty early this morning thats why there is still snow, most of it is melted now because its starting to get nice out.

Also PRP moved there opening day back to April 7th So im still good to go.
New tensioner is on its way. Got a manual one ill see what its like if i dont like it ill just replace it with a factory one.
I got my seat latch and air shourds, Thanks again smith93.
Now i need to get a new base gasket and ill just get a new head gasket while im at it and then put it back together.

Got my gaskets ordered today, i just ordered a full cometic top end set.
I have not got anything else done to this thing lately, because i have mostly been working on my truck. Just to many projects going on at once but at least im making progress on both haha.
But when the gaskets come i will be putting this thing back together so i can FINALLY hit up a track and test it out.

How did you find it to work? Just tighten it till you feel resistance then lock it in place?
PaRedneckRiders
03-25-2011, 05:50 PM
Ya i tightened it up until i felt like it was good and not to tight not to lose then tightened the nut. It seems good as of now i haven't ran it much yet but after i get some new oil and start riding it some ill let you know.
As of now im definitely a fan of it and like it.

I now have brakes, well at least rear ones. I plan on getting the fronts on tomorrow along with trying to get an exhaust mount fixed up for now, i cant fine the piece that needs to go there i just had zip ties on it to ride around the field across from my house to test it out.

04-04-2011, 07:05 PM
Ok got the brakes on and rode it a little more, then took it to a place we ride locally and was running around hit a few jumps and went to hit a big hill made it half way up and it shut off would not start after that.
I went over basic things put a new plug in it it has spark and while i had it back apart i put the 450r carb on it i had ready.
Only other thing i can think of it timing because it rolls over and every once in a while it will pop but it will not start. I pulled it and tried to pop start it and it started but wouldnt run would just fire and if you pulled in the clutch and tried to give it gas it would shut off again. Any ideas??

I'd take a good hard look at that Custom chain tensioner. Slack in it would cause it to jump time....

04-05-2011, 04:26 AM
Thats exactly what i was thinking, im going to check it out today and see whats up.
I think i just didnt have it tight enough because it ran really good up untill the point it shut off.
PaRedneckRiders
04-06-2011, 05:18 PM
put my 450 carb on while i have the thing apart to get it running again.
Checked timing and its good i didn't have a plug here so im gonna get one tomorrow and try that HOPE THAT'S IT.

Haven't done much lately ran in to a little bit of a snag.
So might be rebuilding it AGAIN.

what kind of snag did you run into? that thing looked like it was basically done.
PaRedneckRiders
04-16-2011, 07:47 AM
It was, me being a genius, got on it a little hard before i was done breaking it in and bam nothing.
Got it all apart right now ill take some pics to show you but the rings are fried, but i have to measure clearance between the piston and cylinder wall.
It was only push 125psi of comp which seems low.
IDK what im doing yet but whatever i do has to be done it less than 2 weeks and it still has to be broke in.

04-16-2011, 09:50 AM
i rode mine gently for about 15 min. changed the oil......
then the next day i went on a 30 min. ride and i was hitting it hard. hopefully i didn't mess mine up either haha.
did you change that break in oil out ? I know people that ride the heck out of theirs once they get the first heat cycle done.
i'm using the same philosophy.

PaRedneckRiders

Ya changed oil and everything but either way im at least getting new rings and see what happens.
2001400exrida
04-16-2011, 04:15 PM
yeah something else has to be off.
you usually can't fry rings if you have everything together right. even during break in the rings will be fine if you spank on it.
PaRedneckRiders
04-16-2011, 04:20 PM
I know thats what i was thinking, It was still a little down on comp.
But ill still throw new rings in and prob throw another CDI i have on along with another coil.
Still cant hurt to have at least new rings.
PaRedneckRiders
04-21-2011, 04:57 AM
Well i ordered some parts.
New rings
new coil
New top end gaskets
O ya and one of the one way gas cap vents.
Some of it should be here either today or tomorrow.
