I was wondering do u guys think my son, who races a stock motor on a 2010 DRR 90cc can make a 45 minute XC race on one full tank of gas? All that he has raced before was 30 min. races and I never thought to see how much gas he used in that time?

yes he will. if anything put youe petcock to reserve, this will allow all the fuel to come out of the tank if you are unsure. We do 45 minute motos on a modified 90cc engine and we finish the race with still some in the tank..

45 Minutes should not be a problem, even on a wide-open track or in sand. Keep in mind a 45 minute race can go much beyond that depending on where your rider is positioned in relation to the leader and the length of the track. We were at a race with a track long enough that the leaders only did 3 laps - my son crossed the line at 40-some minutes on lap 2 and they sent him around again. I thought he'd run out for sure, but he made it!

We always top off right before the race starts and if the race is going more than 50-55 minutes I stop him. A 30 second gas stop is much better than running out on the last lap! A quick break for the rider and a chance to coach him a little helps, too.

Good luck!!

there is a trick for using your oil injection tank for extra fuel. it's on the drr web site. but sounds like you don't need that.

Trying the gas in the oil-injecter tank kind of scares me. I don't really think I want to try it.
