On my 400ex I do good in about 3 - 5 inches of snow. I could probably handle more snow if it wasn't really wet and was more of a dry powdery type of snow. We went out about a week and a half ago and there was probably anywhere from 8 - 12 inches on the ground and we couldn't get anywhere. We looked like we were mud bogging rocking back and forth and trying to jump our weight on to the pegs. We tried for about and hour but it sucked and we were freezing our nads off. Winter sucks imho

i guess youll find out. but usually they can go through a good amount of snow if you keep the R's up and i like to pu my knees on the back of the seat and sit like that with my feet hanging off by the grab bar. that way you can have more wieght for you quad to push the snow and the front isnt digging down so much. if you start to get stuck try to pull the front end up and hit the gas and wheelie out of the snow.

I hear ya man. I've been dreaming of dirt! Unfortunatly I wont be getting any dirt any time soon. First I have to deal with at least 2 months of mud.:grr

weve had like a foot and a half of snow here since early december...so i havent gotten to ride much. but the snow is really crusty on top, so i can ride on that at least...its a big pain when i break through the snow and get stuck though:rolleyes:

I've got 22" blackwaters on my 400 and even with those you cant go into a ton of snow, I dont like I'd ride in more than 7", skid plate drags to much and you cant get enough traction, I like it when its 2-5"...enough to slid around on but not enough to get stuck every 15 seconds
