Very nice, I agree you shoulda rounded the edges a bit more as it woulda looked better imho.

BTW I wanna know how on earth you make the doors to those? Did you buy it or make it? Id imagine making one is about 50 little slats all fit into a track.

Rounded what edges?

I guess you are referring to the tambour.:p Its pretty simple but a long process.
First you get a board the size you want (length and thickness) Then you run one edge through the router table with a round over bit, then flip it and run the other edge through it. Run it through the table saw, joint the edge and run it through the router table again and so on so on. This one I believe had 31 slots. After you get the amount needed, you make a jig to hold the slots tight against each other and use contact cement and some kind of cloth. I used duck cloth.

Actually its not crooked! I spend an hour trying to figure out why it was/ or looks crooked!:blah: Everything is lined up and squared.

About five months on and off working.

Here is a few pictures of my man cave.
It gets pretty tight in there. :p

What I meant was all the edges on the piece I think woulda looked better having been rounded with a round off bit in a router.

The process for the tambour sounds like a real pain in the ***. Now I know why the sell prefabbed ones lol

only thing I see that you should have done was put a darker stain on it and shipped it to Raleigh, NC. :D

That really brings childhood memories back. My oldest brother has our roll-top desk.

Yea but the price of them is outrageous. A lot cheaper to do it yourself.:p

Actually, it is darker than what it looks and will get darker over time. I never really liked them until now.
