What year of ltz/kfx 400

I am going to buy a ltz/kfx 400 but i am not sure what year to buy. I know there has only been minor changes throughout the year up to 2008. There is a lot of 2003s for sale but should i wait till i can find one a little newer or is a 2003 still worth my money.I was thinking about waiting till i could find an 05 or newer, but are the minor upgrades that big of a deal? Is there anything specific i should look for when looking at them?

i have a 2003 and my friend has a 06 we are evenly matched when riding the trails but the 06 and newer has better shocks which can be set up more for the style of riding you do
