View Full Version : Swingarm Bearings...

So... what's the best way to get swingarm bearings out??? i have not really tried anything.... just got it off the bike and see they NEED to be done... any help is great...

i hit mine out from the opposite side with a chisel on one side then slide the sleeve out of it and do the same to the opposing side. we have a couple of writeups around somewhere that are decent but that will probably be the easiest way without having a puller to do it.

a tip for putting them in, put them in the freezer for a while to get them cold before you drop them in and they will slide in much easier.

use a 18mm i believe it was with a long extention though the other side. and use a death blow hammer save your knuckes. take some beating but they come out. or use a press.

You can beat the old out with socket, like suggested above. I highly recommend pressing the new ones in, though. You can put them in with the socket and hammer, but it's likely that you mushroom the races.
