View Full Version : Thinking of selling my quad, i need some opinions.

I've come to realize that i've got way too much money invested in my 416, and i've got someone wanting to buy it for $3000. I really need the money to start building my Toyota, but i'd also like something else to play around on since i won't have my quad.

My friend has a 2008 CRF150R with under 20hrs. for $2000. It needs nothing done to it, and it looks new. That would leave me with a grand left over to put back, and i'll start working at a Bike shop in about a month so i'll have a steady income. What does everyone think? Is it a good idea?

personal opinion :

If you 4 wheeler is paid for, yours and you
like how it rides keep it. You know where
it's been and you'll never get back the
money you put in mods anyway.

The more you change around, the more you'll lose money.
Also the CRF150 seems like a downgrade to me.
Sorry if this seems harsh in anyway, but that's how I see it.

(PS. Maybe you can get more if you part it, but it's a lot of work/time)
At the end of the day, everybody wants everything for nothing.

i've rode a 150R before and they are a fast bike for their size, i love them. I'm looking for something different, and i'd like to try a bike out. I get what you're saying and you're not being harsh in any way. At the end of the day, i'll have $1000 bucks to put back for my truck and something to have fun on.

imo if you really want to sell it, 3000 is a great deal for you. theres not 1 400ex going for anywhere near that price around where i live, it may be different wherever you are but if someone offered me 3000 and i was thinking of selling... it would be gone in a heartbeat.

i however will never sell my 400ex so i cant help you there. esp for working on a toyota. haha

the 150 is probably a bit lax in the hp department for anything you are used to but for something to play on they are great bikes and low maintenance.

lol my ma has a corolla that seems to be ok.

i guess if i could find one in good shape with low miles that was all done i might drive one but i would have to either have it given to me or buy it super cheap. it couldnt be a little one either, it would have to be a big boy truck.

just yanking your chain. lol yotas are alright for a purpose. they look cool lifted with an exo-cage on them. :D

Well if you're really wanting to change then it would be a good option.

Like steve said, seems like they are offering enough to be motivated to sell.

IMHO, Crf150r's are really nice bikes, but not $2000 worth...2/3 of your 400ex!?!?! I believe the weight limit for those things are 120 and I weigh 185 and when I rode one, it wasnt comfortable at..not calling you fat by any means....but just letting you know...

haha:D i weigh 130 at the most, like i said, i don't care if it's slower than my 416, i can still have fun on it. i'm sure it won't float over everything like mine will, but it'll give me money to put back for my truck, that's what i'm concerned about.

food for thought...

I just sold a '05 crf150 for $1400. and it was in absolutely beaytiful condition. there was a 2" scratche on the rear fender, and another on the muffler, that's all that was wrong with it, and it had about 15 to 20 hours on it.

My buddy just bought another '05 crf150 for $1200.,
that litterally looks like it's off the showroom floor.

The OP is talking about a CRF150R not a Crf150f.. Two different bikes.. The 150f is a trail bike.. The 150R is a Unicam hi performance liquid cooled bike. It is a scaled down 250r. These things are by no means slow. I had one a while back and it hauled pretty well.

always, i'll never own any other brand. Can't beat honda reliability. plus they put more R&D in their bikes than they do quads

i'm not a big fan of 2 strokes. i prefer thumpers. The same person i'm buying the 150 from has a built cr85 that a local pro used to race for 1300, but i would rather have a 4 stroke
