How many of you have already limited your race schedule to less races because of rising fuel prices. I have to drive about 1hr 30mins to all of my SEMI-local tracks. I just can't afford to do it anymore, I went from a schedule that had me racing every other weekend to just 4 races all summer. It really does suck... The atv is gonna get put on the back burner, once again.

Way it goes really, I dont have the time to race even if I wanted to. Just this past weekend I filled up my and my buddys quads and it cost is 15 bucks and get got like 3 gallons! That was only premium pump too! I cant imagine driving over an hour to race, thats alot of gas going bye bye.

Can may maybe hook up with someone and carpool?

Gas prices are the only thing keeping me from running nationals. I can afford the New England series... but after going down the Georgia for the first one... I can't keep paying that much!

Everyone should try and "quad pool" to races together. Our sport is already suffering. Don't let these oil company pricks kill it more. They are just falsely driving up prices before the summer "driving season" and we are falling for their B.S. like every other year.

I cut down on the practicing so much; here lately I have just been riding on race weekends. Less seat time comes with a price though, I usually feel like I’ve had my *** kicked come Monday morning.lol
The good thing is less seat time also means parts are lasting longer.
The next race for me is 5 hours away, the good news is most are within an hour drive.
I have seen a big drop in attendance in the past two years.

My son and I race the NEATV series and for us this season and most of the tracks are 3-4 hours. One is 5, one is 2 most are 3 or 4 hours.

Gas is really going to hurt this summer if the prices keep going up. I am really hoping that we don't have skip any this year.

I quad pool with a guy, but we pull a 20ft enclosed trailer with us to races so it doesn't help much... But having a trailer with sick graphics and a FULL tool chest, a bed, ac, generator, air compressor, heat, mini-fridge... etc is well worth it...

our first race is just alittle over 6 hours away. :grr:

My local series races range from 1 hr to 6hrs away. I quad pool with at least two other guys every race. We pull an open trailer with a 1/2 ton truck or suburban strickly for the fuel savings over luggin around an enclosed. It's the nationals that i can't afford to run. They're hit or miss for me.

i just ditched my inclosed trailer for an open trailer so i can fit more quads on it...split the ride with a few locals thats my only answere other than quitting

Gas prices are the reason I switched to bikes. I live 45 minutes away from 4 tracks, and 10 minutes away from Hangtown, none of which allow quads. The closest quad friendly track is 3+ hours

Georgia just bent me and my buddy over...hauling from Northwest Indiana in a disel. Sucks but we make it happen for the love of racing and competition

Im lucky to have 2 tracks within 30 miles. 1 is south (kinda sucks on a quad), the other north of me (havnt been on this one yet). Was wanting to hit some races at other tracks, but that might not happen now. Ordered a drum of race fuel yesterday, $390 for 110 octane. I hope it lasts all summer till prices come down in the fall.

How was the attendance for those of you who made it to the first national? I will probably only end up hitting one strictly for cost reasons. Nationals are expensive enough, even without worrying about rising fuel costs. I don't know how the non-pros can make it to all the nats....

wish i could say the same.. unfortunately i have student loans and a mortgage, and a commute to work every day. still planning on a few this summer, but its looking like i'll definitely have to trim the schedule.

What tracks does D6 race at? I dont race competitively but Im getting tired of Blue Diamond MX. The next closest place I know of is Breezewood. I was considering racing a little this year but its lookin a little too costly.

The turnouts at the first national were lower than normal, but alot of people didn't have quads ready. The competition was still awesome though :D

I believe the total entries were 583 at the first national. I bet there's more in Alabama because so many people weren't ready. They made the first race so damn early this year!!

I sold my open trailer - becoz our shop & cut the locks to the quads, WTF, we still own them but if you run open trailers your more prone to gettin ripped off.
I'm going enclosed - out of site - out of mind.

We do Breezewood its 212 miles door to door @ 12 mpg it will be about $150 in fuel round trip  and thats at todays prices

Food , diesel, quad gas, coffee and beer. Parts extra .........
Bet it will be $300 a weekend at best. Thats just two peeps with there quads.

I do it for the glory :macho 50 this year baby. F U
