I was overlooking my paperwork i got from the honda dealer. I noticed it says my intake boot is cracked. So my question is which boot is it? the one between the carb and airbox im guessing. or is it the one that carb bolts too? i seen somewhere about a plastic boot instead of rubber. Would that be better? Thank you

The Intake Boot ,is between the carb and the head.
The Air Cleaner Connecting Tube, is between the airbox and the carb.

A cracked Intake Boot is BAD.
It will cause you to have a severly LEAN condition, and will result in burning up your engine.

CHANGE IT NOW WITH A NEW ONE.

Do Not attempt to repair it with silicone or any other means.

Any failed attempt to repair it can result in a engine rebuild.

Are you willing to risk that for a piece of rubber ?

I did look and didnt notice any cracks in either dammit
Anyway thank you tri5ron for an answer. Last time i had a bad intake manifold boot my quad would backfire and not run good at all. That why i didn't think it was the carb boot. So that's probably part of my jetting problem. I guess ill take it all the way off and check it

If you really want to double check it for a crack, you can, but it carries some level of risk for the inexperienced.
SOOooooo,...
If your Mechanical Experience is not ABOVE AVERAGE,....
or,
if you are new to tuning, building, maintaining Engines,...

DO NOT TRY THIS ALONE !!!

THIS IS DANGEROUS,... IF YOU SCREW THIS UP,...
YOU CAN CATCH YOUR QUAD, YOURSELF , AND YOUR HOUSE ON FIRE !

Now, that we have THAT Clearly understood,....

First, make sure the carb clamp is properly tightened around the boot.

Then start your quad, and LIGHTLY spray some Starting Fluid on the rubber intake boot.
(NO,... not WD-40, PB, or Carb cleaner).

MAKE SURE TO NOT SPRAY IT TOO HEAVILY,...
and DO NOT SPRAY IT ONTO A HOT HEADPIPE !!!

Starting Fluid is HIGHLY EXPLOSIVE !!!

If your Quads idle speed raises momentarily, when you spray a quick shot onto the outside of the rubber intake boot,.. you will have found your crack.

Remember,
THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS.
DO NOT DO IT ALONE,
IF YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING,.... YOU CAN GET HURT !!!

I said a NOT LIT propane torch. The propane will still rev it up if there was a crack in the boot right? I'm not gonna try to set my quad on fire. Well not yet anyway
