who makes a good drop in cam and where could i find out more about one? would a je 11.1:1 compression be good to run with a cam on a 300ex, also would you have to do anything to the valves if you put a drop in cam in? thanx

11:1 is pretty much the highest comp you want to run on pump fuel.

yes it will be ok on the rod if you maintain with oil changes.

drop in cams do not require any other valve train mods.

i have a hotcam which has been reliable so far.

web cams is a good cam company. my buddy has a white brother cam in his stock bore 400 w/high comp piston and has stock valve train components and no probs so far after 200 hours on top after rebuild.

others will give opinions

would be a nice bonus with exhaust and airbox/intake mods

but do you have to do anything with the valves like the lift or anything like that

the cam is what controls lift. you will have to reset the valve clearance. i think this is what you are talking about. get a manual. tells you everything you need to know
