I've heard about this a few times, but still had some questions:

1. What is the overall benefit, and is it worth it? (Maybe wider, better suspension??)

2. What parts do you need?

3. Any frame cutting/modding needed? Want to get mine powder coated but won't if this requires frame cutting or welding.

Thanks

2 inches wider overall?. they A arms bolt right up to all your 300 stuff. The only benefit is more width. You will probably want new shocks also

I have the 400ex front end on my 250x. Love it. Its about 1.5 inches wider on each side. I used 250r top a-arms because they have adjustable camber. I had to trim some of the metal off the a arms where they bolt up to work. Its a tight fit. You will have to get 400ex shocks and a shock relocator bracket. Big improvement. Nothing to modify on the frame (other than adding the relocator, but that bolts up).

AndersonX gave you 100% good information...he knows what he is talking about.

While you can make the 87-89 R a-arms work by grinding a little off the pivets, the 400ex ones will bolt right up. They are also real cheap compared to 250R.

True it does make it wider, the big benifit comes from the travel. I would recomend the 400ex a-arms then get some 4-1 off set wheels. This will bring the widt back in to almost stock but the get the benifit of having the pivet point 1.5 inches wider...works great.

Wouldn't run any other way. We put Houser slycast 400's on ours with 450 lt Fox Float evols and it's awesome. Used the Rath shock mount.
