what kind of snake is this. i dont know if you can tell from the pics. but my dog found this snake in my house and shook him and killed him. i took my knife and cut off its head. im not sure what kind of snake it is. but can anybody shed some light and tell me what kind of snake this is. its def creepy to know it was in my house

i thought it was maybe a copper head but i could be wrong. it has the similar markings to a copper head.

Looks like a rat snake, hence the tail.

I definitely would freak out if I found that in my house, I absolutely hate snakes. But I'm pretty sure it's a rat snake, decent size one to say the least.

Thank God for dogs...

yea id go ahead and agree its a rat snake. atleast it wasnt a copper head.

the dog that found the snake is a pit bull. he immediately picked the snake up and shook it and that killed it. i just went ahead and took my knife and cut its head off just to be sure lol

you would be suprised how many houses have snakes in them. When I was a teen ager I did HVAC work. I crawled under a lot of houses. It's not like I would run into one every day but It did happen. Houses attract mice and mice attract snakes..you just hardly ever see the snake.

I've done plenty of work in craw spaces. You find some of the grosses things under there!

Looks like a rat snake....totally harmless. They actually make great pets - unless they are missing a head. lol
